  Founded one hundred years ago in 1913, Aston Martin has developed into an iconic brand synonymous with luxury and sporting elegance. The company competed in its first race at the 1922 French GP. Aston Martin was purchased by industrialist David Brown in 1947 along with the Lagonda marque, and production moved to Newport Pagnell in 1954. The 1950s ended with much racing success including victory at the famous Le Mans 24 hr race. Aston Martin's 50th anniversary saw the launch of the legendary DB5 in 1963 which was immortalised as James Bond's chariot of choice in the film 'Goldfinger'. At the same time the company returned to track racing with the works supported 'AMR1" finishing sixth in the World Sportscar Championship. 1988 saw the introduction of the Virage at the NEC International Motor Show ensuring Aston Martin entered the 1990s with a new sportscar at the heart of its revised model range. The Virage was an exceptional and exclusive vehicle with just 355 coupe versions being built between 1998 and 1996. Never delivered new to Australia it is believed that that there are just five examples of the Virage model in the country, with current importation laws making it almost impossible to bring any others in. This 1990 example of the Virage is in outstanding condition and has covered just 31,532 miles. It presents beautifully and is one of the ultra rare cars fitted with a manual ZF gearbox.
