    1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III 4-door Saloon

  • Notes:
Rolls-Royce Limited was created over a famous lunch in May 1904. Henry Royce a successful engineer, struck a deal with Charles Rolls, owner of one of the first car dealerships. The rest is history. The Silver Ghost, launched in 1907, was a car of legendary smoothness that completed a 14,371 mile virtually non-stop run, creating 'the best car in the world' sobriquet. The swinging sixties saw Rolls-Royce appeal to a new breed of owner. With many actors, pop stars and celebrities of the day choosing the marque. One of the Rolls-Royce models of the 1960s was the 'Silver Cloud III' with its eight-cylinder 6.2 litre engine it was powerful, smooth and quiet. There was plenty of beautiful wood and hide on the inside to make it remarkably comfortable and cosseting. The example offered for sale here is in excellent restored condition and a fine example of a special car that is the Rolls-Royce.
