    1953 MG TD Mk II
    Chassis: TD29285 Engine: XPAGTD229632
  • Notes:
The MG TD was produced between 1949 and 1953 and was in part responsible for the enormous popularity of the British two-seater sports car in the United States. The TD provided a more comfortable ride than its predecessor the TC. It had better handling and more width on the road though only by one inch inside the cockpit. The car featured smaller wheels down from 19 inch to 15 inches and these wheels were sold steel rather than the wire spoke wheels. It also featured more stylised wings better brakes and an adjustable steering column. This model was available in both left and right hand drive variations. The MG TD II as it is known was introduced in July 1951 when the 1250cc XPAG engine was upgraded along with a new larger clutch. This excellent example of the MG TD has been professionally restored to the highest and most sympathetic level. In absolutely A1 condition this pretty MG presents as anew having done very limited mileage since its restoration. It is one of the finest examples of the model possible with minimal deviation from its original specifications. The changes that have been made however enable the car to be driven with panache in the 21st Century. These are the fitting of Toyota five speed gear box and a supercharger. The original gear box and SU carburetors are of course included in the sale of the vehicle.
