Quarto, quarter pigskin over brown buckram with crossed swords and motto “the sword also means clean-ness & death” in gilt to front panel; spine lettered in gilt (somewhat scuffed); marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, other edges uncut; 672pp; numerous plates and folding maps.
