    carved, engraved harwood, the main trunk section is elaborately carved with curvilinear & arabesque engravings with a central stylised lizard.

    The work, from a single inverted tree, originally, the upper trunk was sunk into the lake bed, the flaring roots form the wing-like projections at the top, at whose junction the roof beam rested, the house post would have extended in height originally, some of the most impressive sculptural elements from the Sentani people were the central posts of the ondoafi's house
