    A pale-greenish white jade mountain, Qing dynasty, 19th century
    carved in relief, one side with a boy on a water buffalo playing a flute below a scholar holding an umbrella standing beside a pavilion on a path; the reverse with a pine tree with russet-brown highlights, grows from the rocks above the lower path that continues from the other side; fitted hardwood stand
    14 cm wide and 11.9 cm high

  • Notes:
    Alan Hartman is an influential and respected dealer and collector. The Hartman collection, which has been meticulously accumulated over a period of more than half a century. Alan’s father opened his first gallery in 1927 specialising in Oriental Art in New York. Alan and his wife, Simone, have formed one of the finest collections of Imperial jades in private hands.
