• Notes:
  A NOTE FROM WARWICK BROWN: Ellis' Motorway series occupied him from 1963 to 1974. This painting stands at the point where new elements were introduced; in this case a massive, super flyover. Shortly after, aeroplanes and buildings from the Northland Maori settlement of Te Rawhiti appeared, slowly pushing the original spaghetti tangles off the canvases.
