WWII JAPANESE KAMIKAZE DIRK, HEADBAND AND FLYING GOGGLES
The hilt and scabbard are covered in brown leather. The collars are celluloid, and the blade is hand forged. The daggers are traditional in appearance with a slightly curved single-edged blade fitted with a Habaki blade collar. Sometimes they bear an engraving such as “Go forth and conquer and your deeds will be recited in history”. The blades can be separated from the hilt by removing a bamboo securing peg (meguki). A small hole in the hilt to receive a wrist cord.
  • Notes:
The dirk and goggles were recovered by a British seaman from a plane which was hit by any-aircraft fire. Part of the wreckage crashed into his ship and failed to explode. Kamikaze Dirks are rare and very few survived. Most have been recovered from planes that did not explode.
