  AUSTRALIA: WWII RAAF Service dress tunic, Flight Lt Alexander Williams
  Member of Goldfish Club & Caterpillar Badge recipient. Four pocket dress tunic K/C RAAF pilots wings flat 8 feather type, 7 place ribbon bar - 39-45, Atlantic with France / Germany rossete, Italy, Service & Defence medals, FL/LT rank detachable shoulder boards with eagle device, BCOF insignia right shoulder, Caterpillar Badge on right lapel, 2cm gold with red jewel eyes, pin backing correctly engraved to ‘F/O. A.F. Williams’, Goldfish Club patch silk embroidered on dark wool with two waves underside left lapel, (The two waves represent two ditchings), also attached is a Norwegian cap badge (evaded through Norway after being shot down) and American Victory ribbon.
• Notes:
  Williams was shot down over England with his crew in a Sterling Bomber by a Luftwaffe intruder, parachuting out he became a member of the Caterpillar Club. In late 1944 joined the elite 9 SQN RAF, shot down after participating in attacks on the Tirpitz and submarine pens, evading through Norway back to England. After the war he volunteered for single engine fighters (Mustangs) and flew until a major landing infraction saw him grounded by his C/O as being dangerous. Later he fought as a guerrilla in Malaya without permission in some form of special force. Accompanied with extensive supporting documentation about the pilot and his colourful history, but still further research potential including possible ‘617 Dambuster’ service history. A significant item and potential centrepiece of any collection.
